Property & Casualty Insurance - KACo All Lines Fund (KALF)
Formed in 1987, KALF provides affordable Property & Casualty insurance to Kentucky's county governments and political subdivisions.
By participating in KALF, counties and political subdivisions realize many advantages over the traditional insurance marketplace. Foremost among these advantages is that the KALF program is a non-profit Kentucky-based insurance company. The focus of our operations is not to generate a profit; rather it is to cover our two largest expenses, reinsurance and claims. If a profit is generated, it is the membership within the program that will benefit through either a reduction in rates or a policy dividend, such as the $3Million dividend that was paid by the KALF program in July 2010. Other advantages include the broadest insurance coverage available to public entities, twenty-four hour dedicated claims service, and loss control services (See Safety & Loss Control information for additional details).
Coverages offered thru the KALF Program:
- General Liability
- Errors & Omissions
- Employment Practices Liability
- Auto Liability
- Auto Physical Damage
- Property (no co-insurance)
- Crime
- Employee Dishonesty
- Law Enforcement Liability
Types of Political Subdivisions currently in the KALF Program:
- Area/Industrial Development Districts
- Conservation & Extension Districts
- Health Departments
- Libraries
- Parks & Recreation Departments
